‘’The Turritopsis dohrnii jellyfish (immortal jellyfish) usually presses the reset button when it wants to avoid death caused by environmental factors. When adult jellyfish feel threatened by changing conditions, they turn back their genetic clock to become larvae again.

Regaining their youngest form – a thin layer of cells and tissues – they wander the ocean looking for something to cling to, such as a rock or a leaf of sea grass. ”

What would we do if we were able to return to the larval stage? Would we be able to choose the path to healing or would we remain fixed and frozen and at the mercy of our wounds? How easy is the choice to change? And if we did, what would happen next?

My wounded soul ,where shall I rest you?’ examines a visual rendering of the concept of trauma and at the same time invites us to mobilize ourselves in terms of recognizing and understanding our mental pathways towards our traumas and experiences. Grisellda Pollock suggests five defining features of trauma; perpetual presentness, permanent absence, irrepresentibility, belatedness and transmissibility.

The intention of the exhibition is to compose a narrative that contemplates these concepts and invites the viewer into an introspective process of understanding the self and observing its reflexes in relation to images and stimuli capable of awakening thoughts and memories. Bringing together works of diverse materials, media, and techniques, the process of psychic confrontation is kaleidoscopically conveyed in fragmented forms, dreamscapes, phobic places, and fragile ‘bodies’.
