Monologue, 2017, (reed, glue) digital print on archival paper, 125x150cm

Monologue documents a certain setting, a “podium,” resembling a theatrical stage with an empty armchair as its central object. It’s calling us to sit down and tell our own story, or perhaps perform a role. In the background stands an animal-like wood-carved figure, which brings to mind various forms of an ox – a reference to subjugation and labor. From another perspective, it bears a resemblance to a donkey, a symbol of endurance and toil. This sculpture, an object indestructible and indissoluble by time is a homage to individual effort, personal agony, and every narrative that inspires and enhances our relation with everyday realism and unforeseeable surrealism.
